Hi, I'm Kana!
I am a second year PhD student in the Department of Informatics at UC Irvine, advised by Prof. Anne Marie Piper.
I investigate how technology can support aging populations and the networks of care that surround them,
including family members, formal caregivers, and community organizations. Particularly, I am interested in exploring
how technologies can be designed to embed into the daily lives and routines of aging
individuals and their caregivers, and how design can reflect and align with their values and priorities.
My research lies at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW),
and aging studies.
